About Oregon State Sentencing
Oregon uses a structured sentencing grid system codified in OAR 213-004-0001. The sentencing grid provides presumptive ranges based on crime seriousness levels (1-11) and criminal history categories (A-I). For certain serious violent crimes, Measure 11 mandatory minimums under ORS 137.700 override the sentencing grid.
In addition to imprisonment or probation, courts may impose fines under ORS 161.625: up to $375,000 for Class A felonies, $250,000 for Class B felonies, and $125,000 for Class C felonies.
